South Africa Flag The 'Add-On CitiGolf' Tour of Southern Africa

South Africa Flag Why is this the 'CitiGolf' Tour?

Since our first South Africa tour in 1997, The Flag has travelled to neighbouring Namibia, Bostwana, and Zimbabwe if not touring the latter for cricket. We have also enjoyed several tours of Kruger National Park in South Africa, something that must be done if coming to this awesome country.

As The Flag is not a 'travel agent' we cannot include tours involving international or domestic one-way travel so we ask that you research, book, and pay for your preferred travels and add-on tours.

Over the years The Flag has used the following tour operators whom have always enjoyed looking after Flaggers and next year's tour is no different. The Flag receives nothing for these recommendations except the pleasure in you having a safe and wonderful experience when not with us at the cricket.

South Africa Flag Kruger National Park Tour with Siyabona Africa

The most popular tour for all Flaggers is to Kruger National Park and this is astonishing wildlife park is easiest to visit while flying in or out of Johannesburg. There are countless options available which include driving from the airport or taking a connecting flight but you can decide what is best from our friends at Siyabona Africa such as their classic 4 day itinerary.

South Africa Flag Namibia Tours with Chameleon Holidays

A long time favourite country to visit, Namibia is breathtaking. From Fish River Canyon to the Caprivi Strip, Etosha National Park to the Skeleton Coast, Windhoek to the Namib Desert, Namibia is one of the few countries where simply you must see everything, and its uniqueness makes it possible to do so.

Chameleon Safaris have looked after Flaggers since 2002 and again look forward to showing you spectacular Namibia, Botswana, and Zimbabwe in a way that you want. Itineraries are tailored to suit so visit Chameleon Holidays and contact Julie Ives, The Flag's local Guru to discuss your desires.

With the vastness of the region speak with Julie about combining Namibia with Botswana and/or Zim for Vic Falls. Many options are available so take your time. African overland tours operate very much on the 'now' so book your Flag CitiGolf Tour first and worry about the rest later.

South Africa Flag Zimbabwe (Vic Falls) Tours with Backpacker's Bazaar

Victoria Falls is one of the most popular tourism destinations in Africa and easily reached by direct flights from Johannesburg so you can visit before or after your Flag CitiGolf Tour by tacking on an extra flight (British Airways approx A$500 return). Importantly you can fly to Livingstone in Zambia to experience the Zambezi River before she goes over, or to Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe to actually see the Falls, or experience both sides by flying into one and out of the other.

The best advice about crossing the border and back, and travelling Zim is from our friend Joy Moyo at BackPacker's Bazaar. Based in Victoria Falls since 1997, what Joy doesn't know about the area and travelling through Zimbabwe isn't worth mentioning. And don't be misled by the name. Joy can create options from humble backpackers to slick 5 star all-inclusive options.

South Africa Flag Visit the IAPF in Victoria Falls

The Flag has been closely associated with the International Anti Poaching Foundation since its inception in 2009 supporting them with merchandise distributed through Bent Banani. The IAPF has academies in Vic Falls that train rangers in non-lethal disarming of poachers to protect and preserve endangered wildlife. The IAPF survives through the help of volunteers, and programs are available to assist the IAPF. If you are interested in knowing more about volunteering please contact Steve Dean through IAPF.org
