| From the flag of Paul McHugh (Flagger since 2002) |
As senior public servant and a three time Flagger (South Africa 2002, Sri Lanka 2004 and South Africa 2006) I have nothing but the highest regard for the operations of Waving The Flag and specifically Luke. Having travelled to the UK in 2001 with another travel company, I observed what I considered a poor operation, problems with internal travel, accommodation tickets to the tests - I wont go on.
Bitten by the travel bug, and being in South Australia for the test in late 2001 I first witnessed the operations of Luke and his company. This prompted me to make contact and the next year 'a flagging' I went. As an older person (at that time in my late 30s), I was looking for an operation that provided up front and detailed information, was safe, reliable and catered for all travellers from all parts of society. Specifically I was looking for an operation that didn't encourage yobbo's! I wanted to enjoy my cricket.
My three 'Flag' experiences have been tremendous, the quality pre tour information has been first class - it tells you exactly what to expect with no surprises. The tour operates as per the schedule, I have not experienced any issues where the pre tour information varies from the experience. The optional extras are first class and take account of the local culture - I have safaried, climbed ancient Forts, watched a beauty contest in a Shebang, been to a Zulu village and experienced the Townships of SA to name a few. I have recommended the Flag experience to others and describe it as a budget friendly, quality operation.
