Australia Flag From the flag of Melinda McIntyre (Flagger since 2003)

Our first trip with The Flag was to the Caribbean in 2003.  Four of us wanted to watch the cricket in the caribbean only as part of our individual travelling plans.  We were going places before and after the cricket and werent just travelling for the cricket so didnt want an all inclusive transport there and back package. We only wanted to watch 2 tests out of the whole series on 2 different islands.  Cricket was only part of our round the world holiday.

The Flag offers such flexibility that we could tour as part of our own holiday. We were recommended wavingtheflag.com by word of mouth (always a good sign).  I was doing all the bookings for the 4 of us who wanted to join you and I could do everything via your website.  We could choose which tests on which islands, ask questions via the site and email, through which I even changed shirt sizes.

We couldnt believe the little added inclusions, flags, tour shirts (men AND women‘s), and hats. The explanations on the website and booking procedure was so easy it was easy to get excited about going. When we arrived, we could join in as much or as little of your social options as we liked, depending on the country of course, and we could join in those and pay at the time.  We didn‘t have to sign up for anything before we left.  Also all of us previously being independent travellers we wanted a package that would allow us the flexibility to do our own thing.

The social options were brilliant. Play cricket against local teams, golf, boat cruises around islands, sighseeting as a group, have meals together, social drink evenings where we can go out individually afterwards, and best was all of them being optional.

We could tell Luke put a lot of groundwork into the tours making sure seats were in the shade the whole day, not obscured by any poles and there were heaps of poles, we were at the end of the pitch and elevated which is exactly how we like to view the cricket

We loved travelling with Luke and The Flag in the Caribbean that we went to Bangladesh in 2006 also. We did not question anything put forward, options, and suggestions so when we booked for Bangladesh we knew everything would just work.  Your options were brilliant for an undeveloped country and we were able to have a great time watching cricket and being tourists. Once again the stadium seating was the best, transport well organised, the hotel a haven for us and your knowledge on where we were, where to go and what to do, excellent.

The relationship Luke has built up with players and team management gave us Flaggers in Bangladesh access to so many opportunities we would not have had if we hadnt travelled with Luke, who know‘s so many people because he‘s been following the cricket for so long. Luke has a dedicated group of followers because of what The Flag offer.

Luke‘s knowledge of the countries too is incredible, better than any guide book. I travel with Lonely Planet and Luke has more recommendations and is more up to date than any guide book. Luke give us so much confidence in travelling to the more unusual places cricket is played and because of that, of who Luke is, his research, love of cricket, website, everything, we will always book cricket with Waving The Flag and we look forward to going to Pakistan with Luke in 08 and wherever after that.  We‘d never travel cricket with anyone else.

Australia Flag THE FLAG MISSION

“The purpose of Waving The Flag is to encourage more people to travel globally to support and express their pride in Australia and Australian Cricket in a fashion that does not isolate from the cultural or sporting influences that make each cricket tour unique, whilst promoting and maintaining positive social and sporting relations between Australia and the countries we visit.”
