Australia Flag From the flag of Peter Holt (Flagger since 2003)

This is why my wife and I tour with The Flag:

Luke Gillian: Captain of the entire operation, Great organizer & coordinator, great fun to be around, his enthusiasm for all things Australian Cricket is quite infectious, and a good man to eat dodgy curries with.

Destinations: Our focus will always be the cricket. Wherever Australia plays cricket, we will travel. As long as The Flag organizes cricket tours, we will tour with them. While we are there, we'll look at everything else in the country/city that we can also and by definition of this, Bangladesh in '06 was sensational, West Indies '03 the same and I can't wait for Pakistan '08

Cricket: The reason we go! To be met by the man who organizes the tour in a far away land when you get off the plane is priceless. From there it all falls into place from transfers to the hotel, to the ground for each day's play, to tickets in a covered stand with arguably the best available view in the stadium, first class. The tour dinners, after play drinks, unscheduled meet and greet with the players, all add to the overwhelming Flag experience.

Accommodation: My wife and I don't expect the Taj Mahal. So long as we get a clean room in a decent hotel with a hot shower that is some what centralised, we are happy. I'm glad to say The Flag has far exceeded our expectations on our tours.

Social: Options a plenty! There are a number of organized Flag events yet the choice remains yours whether you do them or not. Numerous options are made available to all Flaggers and we like to try and do all of them, and significantly we have found the broad mix of Flaggers on tour have shared our thoughts and sentiments, as they are there for the cricket. We are very happy with the fact the cricket comes first and everything else follows on a Flag tour.

Pre Planning: These tours do not happen by accident. The amount of time, effort, passion, and work that goes into the tour planning must be enormous. When we turn up to enjoy ourselves, all of this hard work ensures that we have a great time, and we do. In this area, W.T.F has no equal. I could go on, and I'm sure I left out a lot of other things, but my point is, we really love Flagging.

Australia Flag THE FLAG MISSION

“The purpose of Waving The Flag is to encourage more people to travel globally to support and express their pride in Australia and Australian Cricket in a fashion that does not isolate from the cultural or sporting influences that make each cricket tour unique, whilst promoting and maintaining positive social and sporting relations between Australia and the countries we visit.”
